Oconee Education and Prep hosts a rich array of academic resources. From pre-K materials that teach important developmental skills, to stimulating math texts and manipulatives that encourage critical thinking and problem solving, to creative writing exercises that help grow outstanding writers. Test prep materials are chosen based on years of experience and teach strategy as well as excellent thinking skills for specific academic disciplines. Computer software is also available to help support one on one work.
What makes Oconee Education and Prep stand out is the time and effort spent to critically analyze which resources best challenge and support its students. The unique ability to work closely with all of the local public and private schools helps to ensure that students build on what they are learning each day in their individual school environment. All curricular texts and materials selected are those currently being used in both public and private schools. In addition, Oconee Education and Prep has researched cutting edge curriculum used throughout the country.
School Partnerships
Perhaps one of the major tenets of the educational philosophy is Oconee Education and Prep’s belief that as a community resource, it is critical to work closely with area schools, both public and private. The directors visit and interview each school periodically to keep in touch with district curriculum, mission, and goals.
Because the client base comes from a wide range of schools, Oconee Education and Prep, it is concerned with helping each student build on that which is familiar and that means being in close contact with the student’s teachers, counselor, and parents.
Students thrive on being able to transfer what they’ve learned at Oconee Education and Prep to what they are being challenged with at school.
